Our Causes

At RIA in a Box, we strongly encourage our employees to take an active role in local communities and to pursue personal interests outside of the office. As part of this initiative, each year RIA in a Box makes a modest contribution to charities selected by our team members. Below is a sampling of charities that RIA in a Box has supported on behalf of our team.

Austin Pets Alive!

"I chose Austin Pets Alive! because they are very effective in helping animals get adopted, and they are a no kill shelter. They take in dogs from other shelters that are in danger of being euthanized and place them in fur-ever homes."

"I chose the Cleveland Music School Settlement because from 6th grade through 12th, I was in their youth orchestra. We preformed 2-3 times a year, and it was an amazing experience I still cherish today. They provide a variety of classes and lesson opportunities for all ages."

Project Outrun

"The goal is to empower and strengthen these kiddos and their families; letting these kids design.. their shoes with their colors and their messages. Whatever empowers them to outrun whatever they feel is chasing them.. Fear. Sickness. Worry. Doubt. Shoes that make them feel "I'm too quick to be sick " or "I'm not sick by my shoes are."  Seeing the SMILES on all the kids faces while creating their shoes is EVERYTHING. When these kids OUTRUN cancer, it helps to have the right shoes."

"I chose this charity because I admire how dedicated they are to helping senior dogs that normally get overlooked find a forever home to live out their remaining years. Since Susie’s Seniors started in 2014 they have helped 1,200 senior dog adoptions throughout the US."

University of Michigan Hartwick Family Architecture Scholarship Fund

"Established in memory of my father (Donald), grandfather (Bruce) and great grandfather (Ernest), this fund provides merit-based scholarships to undergraduate architecture students. When my father passed last year, we decided to honor him by promoting 3 things that he loved: The University of Michigan, Architecture, and learning. So we are currently funding an endowment that will perpetually help U of M architecture students with their education."
