At RIA in a Box®, we strongly encourage our employees to take an active role in local communities and to pursue personal interests outside of the office. As part of this initiative, each year RIA in a Box® makes a modest contribution to charities selected by our team members. Below is a sampling of charities that RIA in a Box® has supported on behalf of our team.
"I chose the Alzheimer’s Association as my charity because my Grandpa is currently battling Alzheimer’s. Watching him battle this disease for the past 10 years has been heartbreaking and I can’t even begin to imagine what goes through his mind nowadays. It is a disease that needs a cure not only for the sake of those that are afflicted by it but for the family members of the afflicted as well. It’s important that everyone has a great quality of life – even up until the very end."

"My dad died of Alzheimer’s and a very good friend of mine’s husband, rather young, currently is fighting this dreadful disease. I fought with my dad in an Alzheimer’s facility for 4 years, going after work to feed him every day. The toll this disease took on our family was/is great. This cause is very dear to my heart."

"I chose Angels for Allison because Allison’s mother was a teacher at my daughter’s school at the time of her death. My daughter was very close to Allison’s mother and it was heartbreaking to watch them endure the loss of their daughter. In effort to bring something good out of the tragedy, they started the foundation to provide a service to an often overlooked and underserved need. While they were blessed to be able to bury their daughter without financial difficulties, this is not the case for all families. I love the idea that they are able ease the financial burden of laying a child to rest when families may not have the resources to do so."

"I chose Big Dog Ranch Rescue because as an owner of large dogs, I know how difficult it is for these pets to get adopted and be cared for. A No Kill shelter where these loving beasts get the opportunity for a second chance at love makes me really happy."

"After becoming involved with the Boys & Girls Club here in Cleveland, it was amazing to see the positive impact the club has on the kids in the area. Even during the pandemic, the Boys & Girls Club is still able to offer resources and aid to the kids and their families. These kids are some of the sweetest kids I know and they deserve the absolute best."

"I chose the National Center for Fathering as my charity because they provide resources and mentoring to fathers in an effort to mitigate the social and economic impact of fatherlessness in America. NCF provides resources and mentoring to fathers and father figures to be actively engaged in the life of every child."

"The National Urban League is a historic civil rights organization dedicated to economic empowerment, equality, and social justice. The League helps to close the equality gap which enables minority groups to develop and exercise their potential to be on par with all other Americans. I chose to support The National Urban League of Greater Cleveland to help empower and support out local community now and in the future."

"I chose Second Chance Rescue because I have a soft spot for animals and I believe no animal should ever be subjected to abuse, or homelessness. Since 2009, Second Chance Rescue has offered a second chance to those animals who are less fortunate, and those with critical medical, emotional, or behavioral issues."
